About Career Bootcamp

Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic globally, there has been a massive rise in un- and underemployment, as over one in six young people has stopped working since the beginning of the pandemic. Young people aged 15-24 were already facing a challenging transition into the labor market before the COVID-19 crisis and were two to three times more likely than seasoned employees to be un- or underemployed. The condition has further aggravated as the pandemic brought in the demand for a new set of skills that fresh graduates need in addition to traditional education. The focus of employers has shifted to skills on adaptability, resilience, technology, and remote communication to contribute to organizational growth.

Against this backdrop, BYLC organized a month-long Career Bootcamp from November 21, 2020, to December 19, 2020, where graduate students and young professionals will be trained on professional development skills by renowned industry experts of the country. Through the Bootcamp, we aim to prepare the participants for the 21st-century job market and meet the existing skills gap.
